School Vision and Mission Statement
Vision
We believe that quality education requires the collaboration of the entire
community dedicated to the importance of student learning. All students must
have a challenging curriculum and a quality education designed to prepare them
to think critically, creatively, communicate effectively and act responsibly.
Students learn in many different ways, therefore, we must teach so that students
hear, see, experience and practice what they are learning. We seek to create
a safe and supportive environment, which instills in all students a sense of
self-worth and integrity.
We believe every student of Coalinga High School has the ability to succeed.
Mission
Coalinga High School will prepare students to:
I. Solve complex problems through a variety of strategies including the ability
to:
a. Design, implement, and evaluate appropriate strategies to solve a wide
variety of problems.
b. Use evaluation, synthesis and analysis to establish and apply criteria
to support judgment.
c. Apply technology to solve problems and make decisions.
d. Apply complex problem-solving processing and critical thinking to real
life scenarios while cooperating and collaborating with others.
II. Demonstrate learned concepts through practical applications:
a. Create original compositions, models or products that reveal understanding,
scope and range pertaining to particular ideas, duties and various types
of technology.
b. Integrate the basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic into intelligent
and thoughtful actions presentations, and products.
III. Communicate ideas in a clear and competent manner:
a. Read, write, speak and listen competently.
b. Utilize various types of technology for communication.
c. Receive and interpret the communication of others in an effective manner.
d. Express oneself through a variety of media including art, music, drama,
dance or other languages.
IV. Act responsibly, demonstrating the ability to:
a. Invest time, energy and talents to improve the quality of life for
themselves, their school, community and the world.
b. Develop respect for the needs, ideas, opinions and property of others.
c. Employ initiative and common sense for the good of others and their
world.
